It would be less painful to get run over by a bus than to do business with this bank. They are beyond horrible. Customer "service" is anything but. Put your money in your mattress. You will be much happier.

Totally disgusting that I have to endure LGBTQ+ flags plastered all over the bank where I have to do my banking!! I should not have to be subjected to this! I am there to do banking not talk about morality!! If this is the case then can I please put up some Rosaries and pictures of Jesus, Mary, God and hang a crucifix? Or how about some Pro Life signs promoting an end to Abortion, the killing of innocent children? You have lost our business and money!! A bank is for banking and not for this!! A bank should be neutral. Shame on you!!

Over two hours on hold for a password reset to my BMO MasterCard. This used to be my main credit card but now it is my backup card!

The worst bank in the history of banks!! Terrible customer service, worse experience in my life, if I could give them negative 100 I would!!

 by Peter Langford

One star is more than this Bank deserves when it comes to trying to actually speak to a human being about an issue. The BMO is so hard up to make any profit that they farm out much of their telephone business to ladies in Central America so that they can spend even less on salaries. To be fair, they do their best but they are not in a position to deal with many issues. The phone number above is not for corporate office headquarters; it is just the "customer care team". I am now actively looking for another bank.

I have dealt with the Bank of Montreal since 1967 wher3 I have an account if the Branch at Centre St. Mall Toronto, On. I would like to share with you about Lori Paolucci employed in the Rutherford Rd and Dufferin St. Unbeknown to me I was being scamed for about $30,000. I told the bank to send the money to an address in England. Lori Paolucci intervened and at the time she said she when send the sum when the computers came back on line

She told me to go home, she contacted my son who told her I have no business in England. My son wexplained what was ahppening to me by being scamed and Lori Paolucci saved me fro a $30,000 loss. I am very grateful to Lori and think she should be reconized for her intervention and wisdom. Thank you Marvin Cohen (marvincohen@rogers.com)

Absolutely the worst customer service. Had a fraudulent charge on my CC in mid August, due to multiple errors on the fraud departments part it took till December to sort out. That was after they didn’t cancel/block my old account like they said they would after the initial call in Aug which lead to multiple more fraudulent charges on both the old supposed to be blocked account and the new card I never even activated. Because it took almost 4 months to sort out the thousands of dollars in fraudulent charges, my mortgage renew in early December was effected, increasing my interest rate and payment by over $300 a month for the next 2 years. In comparison my RBC MasterCard also got hit with a fraudulent charge in Oct, one phone call and 5 days is all it took to get refunded and a new card.

DO NOT PUT YOUR MONEY IN THIS BANK. I GOT STUCK WITH THEM BECAUSE THEY TOOK OVER THE BANK OF THE WEST IN 9/23. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY ACCOUNTS EVERY SINCE. LOOKING FOR ANOTHER BANK NOW. I JUST MAILED A COMPLAINT LETTER TO THE CHICAGO OFFICE. THIS BANK HAS SO MANY NAMES AND ADDRESSES I HOPE IT GETS TO THE RIGHT DEPT. I DREAD CALLING THEM. THE AUTOMATED RESPONSE GOES ON FOREVER. WHEN YOU DO GET A PERSON THEY PUT YOU ON HOLD AND DON'T COME BACK OR THEY CANCEL ANSWER YOUR QUESTION. THEY REFUSE TO LET YOU SPEAK TO A MANAGER OR THEIR ACCENT IS SO HEAVY YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND THEM. THEY COULDN'T EVEN PROVIDE ME A PHONE NUMBER TO ORDER MY PERSONAL CHECK. I HAVE TWO ACCOUNTS AND I AM WORRIED MY MONEY IS IN THIS BANK. THEY WANT A COMPUTER TO RUN THE BANK FOR THEM & ARE REALLY PUSHING FOR AN ONLINE BANK WHICH I DON'T DO. IF THEY MAKE A MISTAKE THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. THEIR APP DOESN'T WORK. I HAVE TWO AUTOMATED DEPOSITS COMING IN A MONTH THERE NOW I HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE HASSLE OF CHANGING THAT. MY SISTER HAD AN ACCT WITH BANK OF THE WEST TOO & IS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH BMO. SHE IS ALSO LOOKING FOR A NEW BANK. WARNING FOR YOUR OWN PEACE OF MIND DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH BMO BANK

Corrupt from top to bottom. Was defrauded on an account while bank advertises 100% guaranteed indemnity from fraud Suspecting the fraud was at least partly an inside job. Bank has done nothing to resolve this and zero commitment to advertised promise. Do not trust your money or your credit rating with this bank. Zero integrity. Zero commitment to customers or to advrrtised commitment (essentially false advertising).

They restrict all communication to phone contact only, and with that a blizzard of dead end bot menus with no optionbto to speak to an agent. Why do that? That's easy. Deniability, of course. Try to sue and they can deny they ever heard from you.

This review is from a customer of 35 years good standing with BMO.

Zero access to complaint process.

The normal " dispute this transaction" option on the fraudulent transaction was DISABLED. Not disputable. Really? Not disputable? Cute.

Worse, interest charges on fraudulent transaction also had the "dispute" option disabled.

Just try to find a mailing address to deliver a writtem complaint Not on the website. They don't want to hear any complaints. A clamped down fortress mentality. Zero credibility. Zero trustworthiness. Zero integrity.
